Dr. Olof H. (Olie) Lundberg has been on the faculty of the University of New Orleans since 1971. He received his Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University. He has served as Chair of the Department of Management at the University of New Orleans for 20 years.
Dr. Lundberg’s experience outside of the University setting includes work in the home office of a large insurance company in New York City. Working at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., Dr. Lundberg revised the management information and control system of the NASA Office of Space Science. His revisions involved simplifying and streamlining a cumbersome reporting process. Dr. Lundberg created a long range planning model for Region III public school systems. Applications of this model are not limited to school systems. Dr. Lundberg has also done other consulting work involving analyzing and revising management systems.
Dr. Lundberg’s research interests include strategic management, planning and control. His recent publications involve strategic responses to economic downturns and information processing in the planning process.
