Accessibility Quick Guide
North Carolina State University has compiled a useful guide to common online learning management softwares and their accessibility characteristics. You can download that here, or go here to read it online. We thank the IT staff at NC State for their permission to link to this guide.
YouTube Closed Captioning
YouTube has an automatic closed captioning service that you can use on their site; contact us in the Instructional Technology office for assistance in setting up a YouTube channel, captioning your videos and then embedding the video codes into your Moodle course site.
Caption your multi-media
Captioned video media should be used. For assistance with accommodation options for narrated PPTs and non-captioned videos, please contact Amy A. King, Director, Office of Disability Services/Section 504 Compliance Officer.
Set extended times for quizzes
The Moodle Learning Management System has settings options to allow extra time on quizzes and assignments for students needing those accommodations.
You'll find a User Override option in the Administrative panel after you open a quiz. Set up the extended access there, as explained in this video.
