In accordance with the Louisiana Office of Risk Management
Loss Prevention Unit, all state agencies are required to have documented review of written policies and conduct documented awareness on the following topics:
Pursuant to AP-BA-52.2, Employee Mandatory Training, the consequences for non-compliance with all training are as follows:
- Eligibility for any favorable personnel actions such as performance adjustments, reallocations, transfers, promotions, etc. shall be withheld until the employee complies with all training requirements.
- Employees who have not met the training requirements in compliance with this policy may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from employment in accordance with University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisor’s PPMs/Bylaws and Rules and/or Civil Service Rules.
- All management staff (including vice presidents, deans, chairs, section heads, department heads, managers, supervisors, etc.) will be held accountable for the compliance of their employees with this policy. Any manager who does not take appropriate action to ensure compliance among employees may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from employment.
In response to Louisiana Revised Statute 42:1170*, all public employees are also required to complete one hour of training on the Code of Governmental Ethics each year. Impacted employees include the following groups: classified, unclassified, faculty, adjunct, casual labor, transients, fellows, graduate or teaching assistants, and student workers. Employees must use their UNO email when creating an account. Those who have already registered may access their accounts again this year using the same username and password that was created last year.

*According to the statute, failure to comply with the requirements of training constitutes a violation of the Ethics Code. Any public employee who is found to have violated any provision of any law within the jurisdiction of the Ethics Board can be removed, suspended, or ordered to have a reduction in pay or demotion by the Ethics Board. The board can also impose a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars, or both.
The State requires that we are able to show proof that all employees have taken the mandated training so we ask that all employees login and do the training individually unless the training is coordinated by HR in a group setting.

Preventing Sexual Harassment Training
All employees of the University of New Orleans are required to complete Sexual Harassment training within 90 days of hire and once per calendar year. This includes anyone employed in the following designations: classified employee, unclassified employee, faculty, adjunct employee, casual labor, transient, fellow, graduate or teaching assistant and student worker.
The Sexual Harassment training was mandated by Louisiana Senate Concurrent Resolution 107 passed in 2012 wherein the Louisiana Senate resolved that all state agencies should provide one hour of sexual harassment training to each public employee each year.
This course will teach employees how to define sexual harassment, identify potentially harassing behaviors, recognize forms of sexual harassment and partner with Human Resources in the complaint process at the University.
