Celyn Boykin, M.Ed.
She offers support, encouragement and direction in the career advising and coaching process to current UNO students and alumni. She plans job search strategies with students and promotes/administers the Career Compass database, career events, career development workshops and seminars, and social media to link job seekers with recruiters and hiring managers.
In the employer relations realm, she works with campus-wide efforts to strengthen existing employer relationships and build new and progressive relationships with employers and recruiters in their employment needs. Collaboration includes: StrengthsQuest, Personal Finance, Enrollment Management, University Success, Student Involvement & Leadership, International Students & Scholars, Alumni Network, and academic/community partners. Under her guidance and leadership, the team engages students in Career Well-Being activities and Career Outcomes: discovering motivation; developing knowledge, skills, and abilities; and aligning skills, habits, and values for job candidates to thrive in the workplace culture and ultimately, peak in their performance. She is a proud UNO Alum, receiving both a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education. Her higher education career includes, Executive Director of Workforce and Economic Development, Director of Continuing and Corporate Education and Recruiting, Career and Job Placement, Managing Manufacturing and Healthcare training programs. Her background also includes Mental Health Counseling/Assessments and Event Planning and Logistics. Her goals are to expose every UNO student to the services and resources offered via Career Services starting with their first year through graduation; Prepare students from freshman through senior year comprehensively for a career after graduation; Actively engage students and employers through networking opportunities, via career events, recruiting sessions, workshops/seminars, panel discussions and direct communications; Engage UNO Alumni with students to serve as Mentors/Role Models and give direct insight into related careers and the job market, participation in panel discussions, workshops/seminars.

Taunya Stewart, MBA/PM
Coordinator, DXC Recruiting and Internships
Taunya developed a passion for education at an early stage in her career. Working as an enrollment counselor, then moving to an executive level administrative role a large private university, Taunya was able to appreciate the need for developing concise tools for student success. She was then able to take those skills to apply them to practical experiences relating to interview skills, candidate counseling and job placement. Taunya has built her career in the private sector, mainly in the roles of recruiting, employee relations and human resource functions. In those roles, she often encountered recent graduates that were ill-equipped to handle the job search and interview process. Taunya was able to create and implement employment modules for student workers to add to the workforce in several manufacturing and distribution organizations, serving a variety of industries. As an HR Specialist, she developed and implemented an interview and tour module that resulting in 30% decrease in new hire attrition.
As the Coordinator of for DXC Recruiting and internships, she supports and facilitates undergraduate and graduate students into an ever-evolving pipeline leading to employment opportunities at DXC. She has also been assigned to assist UNO in defining and implementing an internship strategy that will be available for all students, regardless of their college major. Taunya feels that students need early and often communication regarding applied work experiences, such as internships, co-ops, part-time jobs, and/or volunteer opportunities. In preparation for those opportunities, Taunya assists students with resume development, effective interviewing skills, job search strategies, and networking. She conducts job-readiness workshops as well as coordinates job fairs and information sessions with prospective employers. Social media training is one of the major initiatives that will be the focus for the 2019-20 university term. Prior to joining the University, Taunya worked with for small companies up to major corporations while matching viable candidates on a local and national scope. She served in various roles that included the following: Recruiter, Enrollment Counselor, Associate Enrollment Counselor, Senior Recruiter, Recruiting Manager, Human Resource Specialist.
Taunya graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. She completed her Master of Business Administration in Project Management from Columbia Southern University.
Her number one goal is to equip students with the tools, skills and confidence to present themselves as the candidate of choice, in any situation.

Job Location and Development Coordinator
Myranda is new to the UNO Career Services team and will be working with employers, recruiters, students, faculty and staff to develop a spectrum of applied work experience opportunities for students including part-time, flexible, temporary and seasonal jobs, volunteer opportunities and cooperative educations positions, internships and apprenticeships. She will counsel students to help them clarify their career goals relative to obtaining experiential educational opportunities along with advising and guiding students through the job search process. Myranda will also assist in developing materials and facilitating employment workshops related to resume preparation, interview skills, business etiquette and communication, soft skill development, networking, etc. In addition, she will be coordinating special programs regarding work experience opportunities such as career fairs and career fair orientations.
Myranda graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Northwestern State University. She realized her passion for working with students through her involvement on campus in her undergraduate programs. Since then, she has worked as a Recruiter and in Leadership and Development programs.
Her goal is to ensure that every student is provided the opportunity to grow and reach their potential.

As a Graduate Assistant in Career Services, Caroline prepares students and alumni for the employment process through resume and cover letter reviews, and preparations for networking workshops. She provides one-on-one career guidance and job search skill coaching to assist students in choosing a major, job readiness and career exploration. Caroline also facilitates communication with employers to connect students and coordinate on-campus career events. She enjoys supporting students to develop and achieve career goals. Caroline graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Resources. She is currently working to earn her M. ED in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNO and works part-time as Counseling Intern at Loyola University's Counseling Center.
Her career goals include promoting mental wellness through advocacy to reduce stigma and increase access to mental healthcare in the greater New Orleans community.

As a Graduate Assistant in Career Services, Makenzee extends her services to students in the area of reviewing resumes and advising students who need assistance in their job search. She also assists the Career Services staff with Career Fairs, initiating career assessment and providing feedback to students. Makenzee has a natural talent in making students comfortable enough to share their difficulties, while allowing her to guide them through decisions regarding their college major, career choices and considerations beyond what they may be facing today. She enjoys helping students to realize their full potential all while achieving their career goals.
