Celyn Boykin, M.Ed.
She offers support, encouragement and direction in the career advising and coaching process to current UNO students and alumni. She plans job search strategies with students and promotes/administers the Career Compass database, career events, career development workshops and seminars, and social media to link job seekers with recruiters and hiring managers.
In the employer relations realm, she works with campus-wide efforts to strengthen existing employer relationships and build new and progressive relationships with employers and recruiters in their employment needs. Collaboration includes: StrengthsQuest, Personal Finance, Enrollment Management, University Success, Student Involvement & Leadership, International Students & Scholars, Alumni Network, and academic/community partners. Under her guidance and leadership, the team engages students in Career Well-Being activities and Career Outcomes: discovering motivation; developing knowledge, skills, and abilities; and aligning skills, habits, and values for job candidates to thrive in the workplace culture and ultimately, peak in their performance. She is a proud UNO Alum, receiving both a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education. Her higher education career includes, Executive Director of Workforce and Economic Development, Director of Continuing and Corporate Education and Recruiting, Career and Job Placement, Managing Manufacturing and Healthcare training programs. Her background also includes Mental Health Counseling/Assessments and Event Planning and Logistics. Her goals are to expose every UNO student to the services and resources offered via Career Services starting with their first year through graduation; Prepare students from freshman through senior year comprehensively for a career after graduation; Actively engage students and employers through networking opportunities, via career events, recruiting sessions, workshops/seminars, panel discussions and direct communications; Engage UNO Alumni with students to serve as Mentors/Role Models and give direct insight into related careers and the job market, participation in panel discussions, workshops/seminars.

Tyrone Shoemaker, B.A.
Job Location and Development Coordinator
Tyrone has helped people of all walks of life and at all professional levels with finding gainful employment and rewarding careers. As the Job Location and Development Coordinator, he supports undergraduate students regarding applied work experiences, such as internships, co-ops, part-time jobs, and/or volunteer opportunities. In preparation for those opportunities, Tyrone assists students with resume development, effective interviewing skills, job search strategies, and networking. He conducts job-readiness workshops as well as coordinates job fairs and information sessions with prospective employers. Prior to joining the University, Tyrone worked with in both the non-profit and for profit sectors while matching viable candidates with leading companies together on a local and national scope. He served in various roles that included the following: Employment Specialist, Executive Recruiter, Reintegration Coordinator, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Housing and Employment Resources Expo (HERE). Tyrone graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology and he obtained his Employment Services Certification from the University of North Texas CRP-RCEP. His number one goal is to help students make an informed choice and find the best possible fit for their current career situation.

As a Graduate Student Assistant in Career Services, Leneice, enthusiastically, assists students and alumni with resume building and cover letter writing skills. She links students with potential internship and employment opportunities via Career Compass, social media sites (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) and email announcements. Leneice assists in the presentation of workshops on the resources and services provided by Career Services and Resume Writing and Job Search Skills. Additionally, Leneice facilitates communication with approved employers as well as prepare students/alumni with effective interviewing tips and skills and career consultation. She supports students’ with developing and achieving career goals. Leneice is simultaneously working to earn her M.Ed. in Counseling at UNO. Her ultimate career goal is to earn her PhD in Counseling Psychology as well as develop a community center for maltreated youth. Leneice thrives when promoting mental wellness, encouraging positive self-image, educating and advocating for youth empowerment, and promoting individuality.

As a Graduate Assistant in Career Services, Brynna loves engaging students in resume editing and helping them reach their full potential. She prepares students for job placement by consulting with potential employers as well as offer effective job search strategies. She also keeps students connected via weekly email announcements and Instagram. Brynna assists in the presentation of workshops on the resources and services provided by Career Services and Resume Writing and Job Search Skills. Brynna completes the team's dynamic as a relationship builder and strategic thinker. She enjoys student outreach in order to help UNO students gain challenging and rewarding employment. Brynna is a Graduate Student working to earn her M.Ed. in Counseling at UNO. After graduating, Brynna wants to work in her field as a counselor while creating community outreach for families struggling to cope with mental or physical disabilities alike. Her core beliefs include providing emotional support as well as pragmatic resources to underserved individuals.
