In-State Freshmen Requirements
GPA & Curriculum Requirement
All in-state applicants are required to have a high school core GPA of 2.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale based on the Regents' Core (Core 4 or TOPS University Curriculum)*.
Test Score Requirement

Out-of-State & Home School Applicants
Must have completed at least 17 of the 19 credits of the academic core curriculum and achieved at least a 2.5 core GPA, as calculated by UNO Admissions. In addition, students must have the minimum ACT/SAT sub-scores (listed above).
If a student does not have at least 17 credits within the required curriculum, they must meet the ACT/SAT sub-scores listed above. In addition, they must have either: a 2.5 core GPA and a composite of 23 on the ACT (1130 SAT Evidence-based Reading & Writing and Math), or an ACT composite score of 26 or greater (1230 SAT) and a 2.5 overall GPA.
Privateer Pathways Program: Freshmen applicants (in-state or out-of-state) who do not meet the above test score requirements may be eligible for provisional admission. Students are encouraged to apply to learn more about their eligibility and alternative testing options.
International Applicants: will need to refer to the list of international requirements for minimum test scores and GPA requirements.
*Students with less than 2.0 overall GPA will not be admitted. If an in-state student has less than a 2.5 Core GPA, they must have at least a 23 ACT Composite (1130 SAT Evidence-based Reading & Writing and Math).
