President- Alissa Jeanfreau
“Hi! I am a Biology major concentrating in pre medicine, with a minor in Sociology! I chose medicine because I want to spend my life caring for the less fortunate through health care. AED has brought me so much help on my pre-med journey and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
My promise as President it to make sure all of UNOs’ Pre Health Professional students have all of the resources, knowledge, and opportunities necessary to prepare them for whatever health professional program they choose to take on after UNO. AED is not only focused on preparing a student for their next academic step, but is also dedicated to instilling values and experiences in a person that last beyond an academic career” - Alissa Jeanfreau
Vice President- Karen Gallegos Diaz
"Hello everyone! My name is Karen Gallegos Diaz and I am a senior Biology major with a concentration in Pre-med and minoring in Chemistry. I have been part of AED since my freshmen year and it has greatly impacted my knowledge about medical school and the process to apply. I have made many connections through this society that have helped me in my undergraduate career. I am also the president of the UNO Ambassadors. I have volunteered at Second Harvest, Children's Hospital and St. Anna's Clinic which has increased my love for the medical field and community service. I aspire to become a medical doctor to help the underserved communities within the United States and around the world” - Karen Gallegos Diaz

My goal is to get into an Osteopathic Medical School and practice family medicine. I eventually want to open my own practice that serves the less fortunate. AED has helped me develop relationships with people who have similar goals and values as well as providing volunteer opportunities” - Claire Melancon
